The world-famous American motivational speaker, public figure, singer, best-selling author, the man without arms and legs and the father of four children Nick Vujicic, came to the main Kiev shrine as part of his visit to the capital of Ukraine.

In the Kiev-Caves Monastery, the famous guest was welcomed in the house of the Vicegerent of the Lavra. His Eminence handed over memorable gifts to Nick and his companions, and led them to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, where the wonder-making icons of the Virgin Mary were shown. As a memento, the joint photograph was taken.

Nick Vujicic has a difficult biography. He was born in Australia, his parents, Serbian immigrants, humbly accepted the birth of a child with tetra-amelia syndrome (a rare hereditary disease leading to the absence of all limbs) and surrounded their son with care and love.

Despite his seemingly difficult situation, Nick Vujicic learned to overcome difficulties on his own, and later devoted his life to help others through own example to direct their activities into a creative stream, traveling around the world with motivational performances.

The Vicegerent of the Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, warmly greeted the guest and wished at parting, “May the Lord help you and your loved ones, and His almighty hand will guard you always on the path of life!”
