Brethren of the Social Department of the Kiev-Caves Lavra always visits their wards, gives presents, food packages, and also sweets and toys to children on the coming Day of celebration of the Nativity of Our God Jesus Christ. The lonely seniors are one of the categories of people helpless in life circumstances and requiring care.

Brethren of the Lavra led by hierodeacon Philaret and joined by archpriest Andrew of the church in the Makariv settlement of Kyiv region visited the elderly in the rest home. The rest home or officially the in-patient ward for permanent or temporary residence of the single unemployable citizens of Makariv Social Service Regional Center is commonly meant to be the terminal home for old people without care of relatives.

The gladly welcomed guests from the Lavra also presented icons, literature and a TV-set, which among other allows watching solemn services of Christmas for those unable to come to church. Besides, everyone received grocery, personal hygiene products, linen and clothes. The management of the establishment received a computer.
