The brotherhood of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra continues to provide social assistance under all circumstances. On behalf of the Lavra’s Abbot and brethren, food packages weighing a total of one ton were distributed. The food was provided to internally displaced persons (who had left occupied territories and frontline settlements) as well as needy residents of Kyiv in the courtyards of residential buildings across the capital.

The Lavra’s Social Department works not only with those who come to its office or receive targeted assistance. The brethren also go out into the streets of the city so that as many people in need as possible can receive essential food supplies.

In addition to material assistance, spiritual support is always important. During services and in their cells, the clergy of the Lavra continually pray for peace in our long-suffering Ukrainian land and for God’s help for those who have been forced to leave their homes.
