On one of the Twelve Great Feasts, the Ascension of the Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ, the Divine Services in the Lavra were headed by the Vicegerent of the Kiev-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl.

The evening before, the all-night vigil with the lity, and on the Feast day, the Divine Liturgy were performed by His Eminence the Vicegerent together with the brethren and the guests of the Holy Caves Monastery in the holy rite in the Refectory Church of Venerable Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves.

After reading the Gospel, Metropolitan Pavel delivered a sermon in which he spoke about the event of the Ascension of the Lord as well as of its significance in the act of our salvation.

At the end of the Liturgy, His Eminence Pavel thanked the brethren who joined in service for their prayers and called God blessing on all.

Also, on the Ascension of the Lord Feast, metropolitan Pavel in the service together with the brethren of the Holy Caves Monastery performed a thanksgiving service in the Church of the Conception of St. Anna of the Lavra, during which augmented thanksgiving prayers were offered to God for deliverance from coronavirus infection and removal of one-and-a-half-month quarantine from the Monastery.

At the end of the prayer service, a memorial service was also held for the recently deceased monks of the Holy Caves Monastery and all those who died “during a withering pestilence”.
