Translation of venerable Theodosius’ relics feast led by the Primate of the UOC


021On the day, when the Orthodox Church in its full honors the memory of one of the founders of the Holy Caves Monastery, the hegumen of the Caves, venerable Theodosius, the solemn divine services have been performed in the Lavra. The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine headed the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral of the monastery.

His Beatitude was joined in service by the Vicegerent of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl; the rector of Kyiv Theological Schools, metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary; metropolitan Irenaeus of Nizhyn and Pryluky; archbishops Panteleimon of Bucha, Hilary of Makariv, Philaret of Lviv and Galych, Theodosius of Boyarka, Clement of Irpin, bishops Barsanuphius of Borodianka, Damian of Fastiv, Victor of Baryshivka as well as the brethren and the numerous guests of the monastery in the holy rite.

In the evening before, in the same church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius led the night vigil with lity performed by metropolitan Pavel.

The early Divine Liturgy was performed by the inhabitant of the monastery, archimandrite Theodosius in the Church of the venerable Theodosius of the Caves in the Far Caves.

Upon the end of the bishopric Liturgy, the glorification at the icon of venerable Theodosius hegumen of the Caves in the Dormition Cathedral was sung. Thereupon, the Vicegerent congratulated on the eve of the Great Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos and on the memory day of venerable Theodosius.
