The Holy Archimandrite of the Monastery led the celebrations in the Lavra

001On the remembrance day related to the transfer of the relics of the founder of cenobitic monastic life in Rus, venerable Theodosius of the Caves as well as the Sunday of the Myrrh-bearing Women, the solemn divine services were performed in the Lavra.

The night before, in the Dormition Cathedral, the Holy Archimandrite of the Monastery, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the all-night vigil.

At small vespers, the Akathistus was read to venerable God-bearing Father Theodosius.

On the eve of the dedication feast, the all-night vigil in the church of Sts. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves was headed by Archimandrite Anthony, the Dean of the Monastery, and on Sunday, in the same church, the Warden of the Theodosius Caves, Archimandrite Damian performed the Liturgy jointly with the Lavra brethren. During the service, the prayers for the deceased victims of political repressions were offered up.

On the square in front of the Great Church, the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led the Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by the Vicegerent of the Kyiv-Caves Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl as well as by Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol, Metropolitan Mitrophan of Lugansk and Alchevsk, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, and the hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech, the preconsecrated array of archpastors, the brethren and guests of the Monastery in the holy rite.

After reading the Gospel, Metropolitan Onuphrius addressed the parish with a sermon about the feast on the 3rd Sunday after Easter, as well as about the life, deeds and prayerful endeavor of the founder of the Kyiv-Caves Monastery, venerable Theodosius.
