On the eve of the 26th Sunday after Pentecost, the All-Night Vigil in the Lavra church dedicated to St. Agapitus of the Caves was led by the Holy Archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

During the service, the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was joined by metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, administrator of the UOC; bishop Lavr of Irpin; bishop Mark of Borodianka; as well as the monastery brotherhood and visiting clergy.

On Sunday, the Head of the UOC celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the same church. After the Gospel reading, he reminded the faithful of the importance for us to thank God. “Gratitude is something we need for ourselves. It strengthens us,” emphasized His Beatitude.

This day also marked the Lavra’s patronal feast: the celebration of the Conception of the Righteous Anna, the Mother of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The early service in the church of the same name, located in the Far Caves, was led by the monastery’s treasurer, archimandrite Nestor, along with the brotherhood and visiting clergy.
