On the memory day of the founder of the monasticism in Rus’ and the first abbot of the Dormition Kyiv-Caves monastery festive services took place in the Lavra.

Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphrius performed night vigil in the Great Church  in the evening before and Divine Liturgy at the square in front of the cathedral on the feast day. His Beatitude was joined in services by Vicegerent of the Lavra metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl, the array of the archbishops, the brethren and numerous guests of the Lavra in the holy order including Saint Athos’s priesthood.

In keeping with the brethren’s customs the Acathist to our venerable father took place during the small vespers. It was headed by the abbot of the Dormition Kyiv-Caves metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl

The lity during the Vigil was performed by namesake metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary.

Upon the bishop’s divine service the Head of the UOC led the procession to the Near Caves. At the entrance to the caves, a prayer service was performed, after which all the praying were sprinkled with the holy water, and longevity was sung to the consecrated council.

Besides, all the pilgrims and parishioners of the Lavra were offered meals at the Far Caves.

The brethren early Liturgy in the Refectory Church of Venerable Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves was headed by the father dean of the monastery, archimandrite Anthony.
