On the 24th Sunday after Pentecost the celebration in honor of the wonder-making icon of the Mother of God named “She Who is Quick to Hear” is performed this year. This icon is especially revered in the Lavra: in front of its replica, delivered from Mount Athos four years ago, the prayer service with the akathistus are regularly performed in the Dormition Cathedral.

The Vicegerent of the Kyiv-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl, celebrated the all-night vigil in the “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Church on the eve of the feast day, and the Divine Liturgy in the Church in Honor of All the Kyiv-Caves Venerables on Sunday. His Eminence was assisted in service by archbishop Panteleimon of Bucha and the clergy of the monastery.

After reading the Gospel, His Eminence Pavel delivered the story about the miracles performed by Lord Jesus: the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter and the healing of the bleeding woman.
