Traditionally, on the eve of the Memorial Day of Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles, the prayer service was performed at the monument to the Saint on Vladimir’s Hill, led by the Holy Archimandrite of the Dormition Kyiv-Caves Lavra His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onuphrius. During the divine service, among the praying there were permanent members of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, including Vicegerent of the Kiev-Caves Lavra metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl present thereat, as well as the UOC episcopate, numerous clergy and thousands of pilgrims.

Upon the end of the prayer service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius turned to the praying with the sermon speech.

Further, headed by the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Cross Procession of thousands held the way to the Kiev-Caves Lavra. During the Procession, the following sanctuaries were brought to the ancient monastery: the relics of Holy Faithful Prince Vladimir the Baptizer, the foot of Apostle Andrew the First-Called, the relics of the confessors of our land, who suffered prosecution for their faith: Saint Luka of the Crimea, Venerable Alexius of Carpathia, Venerable Laurentius of Chernigov and Venerable Kuksha of Odessa, Holy Martyr Vladimir (Bogoyavlenskiy) as well as the Synaxis of the eleven saints of Sviatogorsk. Besides, the faithful and the clergy carried five wonder-making icons of the Most Holy Theotokos of our holy monastery in the Cross Procession: Zimnenskaya icon, Pochayev icon, Kasperovskaya icon, Sviatogorsk icon, the icon in honor of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.

In the end of the end the solemn All Night Vigil for the feast of the memorial day of Holy Prince Vladimir was performed within walls of the Lavra.
