On the 5th Anniversary of his Enthronement the Head of UOC Led Services in the Lavra

003August 17 marks the 5th anniversary of the enthronization of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius to the ancient cathedra of the Kiev Metropolitans. On this occasion, solemn services were held in the Lavra, led by the Holy Archimandrite of the Kiev-Caves Lavra, Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kiev and All Ukraine.

The all-night vigil in the evening before, and the Divine Liturgy on the very day of enthronization were performed by the Metropolitan in the Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra. His Beatitude was joined in service by the permanent members of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church: metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynogradiv; the Vicegerent of the Kiev-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl; the Head of the Administration of the UOC, metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the episcopate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as well as the numerous clergy.

During the Divine Liturgy at the lesser entrance, the Head of the UOC granted the following archbishops to the rank of metropolitan: Alypius of Dzhankoy and Razdolne, Nicodemus of Severodonetsk and Starobilsk, Philaret of Lviv and Galych, Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, Barsanuphius of Vinnytsia and Bar, and the following bishops to the rank of archbishop: Antonius of Putyvl, Alexius of Voznesensk and Pervomaisk, Bogolep of Alexandria and Svitlovodsk, Nathanael of Lutsk and Volyn.

After reading the Gospel, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius addressed the prayers with the sermon speech, in which he spoke of the life, endeavor and wonder of the seven saint children of Ephesus, whose memory was being commemorated on this day.

During the Liturgy, the augmented prayers were offered about peace in Ukraine and the unity of the Orthodox Church.

At the end of the divine service, the longevity was sung to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

In conclusion, metropolitan Mark congratulated the Head of the UOC on behalf of the episcopate, clergy and all faithful children of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The congratulation on behalf of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Archbishop Tikhon of Washington was also proclaimed, read out by archbishop Benjamin of San Francisco and the Western America.
