Victory Day celebrated in the Lavra and near it with the prayer

001On the 74th anniversary of the Victory over the Nazi Germany invaders, the Vicegerent of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl performed the early Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Conception by St. Anna of the Most Holy Theotokos of the monastery. His Eminence the Vicegerent was joined in service by the brethren of the Holy Caves Monastery in the holy order. In the altar, metropolitan Sergius of Ternopil and Kremenets also prayed.

During the divine service, augmented prayers for the soldiers deceased during the Second World War were raised. During the liturgy, prayers for peace in Ukraine were also proclaimed.

After the early Liturgy, the gratitude prayer to the Lord God was offered up for the bestowal of the Victory, and after the late service in the Refectory Church of St. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves, the brethren of the Lavra raised the conciliar memory panikhida service for all the deceased in the years of the Great Patriotic War.

Also on the 9th of May the Vicegerent of the Kiev-Caves Lavra participated in the state events on the occasion of Victory Day over Nazism, which took place in the Park of Eternal Glory in front of the stele on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. During the memory lity, His Eminence Pavel joined in service the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onuphrius. Following the service, the archbishops delivered all those who gathered on this day to honor the memory of the deceased God’s blessing.
