On the Sunday of the Last Judgement and on the great Feast of the Meeting of the Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided at the Divine Liturgy (and on the eve, at the All-Night Vigil with festal litya) in the Lavra church dedicated to Venerable Agapitus of the Caves.

Concelebrating with the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church during the services were Metropolitan Antony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church; Archbishop Spyridon of Dobropillia; Archbishop Lavr of Irpin; Archbishop Mark of Borodianka; as well as the brethren and visiting clergy of the monastery in the sacred rank.

Before the beginning of the Liturgy, the Sacred Archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra presided over the rite of the blessing of candles.

At the conclusion of the services, a glorification was offered before the festal icon, after which the First Hierarch greeted all with the feast and addressed the faithful:

“May God help each of us, dear brethren, to live in such a way that the Lord may abide in our hearts just as He rested in the hands of the righteous Simeon. And may He grant us, on the Day of Judgement, to stand at His right hand and to hear the blessed voice, that we may inherit eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.”
