The celebration on the memory day of the venerable Theodosius of the Caves led by the Vicegerent of the Lavra


<p style=”text-align: justify;”><a class=”fancybox” href=”https://lavra.ua/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/019-2.jpg” rel=”attachment wp-att-58237″><img class=”alignleft wp-image-58237 size-thumbnail” src=”https://lavra.ua/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/019-2-150×150.jpg” alt=”019″ width=”150″ height=”150″ /></a>In 1074, after receiving the discipling (note) from God, our God-bearing father Theodosius, the founder of the monasticism in Kievan Rus, reposed. Upon the prediction of the venerable, his monastery of the Caves got stronger, fulfilled with all goodness, which witnessed the prayer boldness of the God-pleaser at the Throne of God Almighty.
According to the tradition, the main festivities in honor of the saint are performed in the “heaven-like church” created upon his blessing, the Dormotion Cathedral.
