On the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, the Church commemorates Venerable Hilarion the Great and Hilarion the Schema-monk of the Caves.

The early Divine Liturgy on this Sunday was celebrated in the Exaltation of the Cross Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The service was led by the dean of the monastery, Archimandrite Hilarion, with the concelebration of the monastery clergy.

In the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow,” the Liturgy was celebrated by the keeper of the Near Caves, Archimandrite John, together with the Lavra’s clergy.

During the services, special petitions were offered for the gift of peace and tranquility in our Ukrainian land, for deliverance from every enemy and adversary, and for God’s blessing upon those who have taken in people forced to leave their homes.

At the Litany of Supplication, fervent prayers were also offered for Archimandrite Hilarion, who on this day celebrated the feast of his heavenly patron, Venerable Hilarion of the Caves.
