On the City Day of Kyiv, the French Republic parliamentarians paid an official visit to the capital of Ukraine. The delegation included senators Nathalie Goulet from the Department of Orne, Jean-Pierre Moga from the Department of Lot-et-Garonne and Joël Guerriau from the Department of Loire-Atlantique.

Within the visit, the prominent politicians got insight into the history and shrines of the ancient Caves Monastery.

Upon the blessing of the Vicegerent of the Kyiv-Caves Lavra, metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl, archimandrite Anthony, the Dean of the Lavra, met the delegation.

Besides, nun Theodosia, who lived in France for a long time, guided the distinguished guests to the Near Caves and spoke about the venerable fathers of the Caves. Also, the apiary, where bees collect honey in the orchard of the Monastery over the years, aroused particular interest of the group.

In conclusion, the guests were shown the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross and the main shrine of the Lavra, the Dormition Cathedral, whereafter the deputies of the Upper House of the French Parliament and their accompanying persons made joint photograph in memory of their visit to the main Monastery of Ukraine, and exchanged souvenirs.
