On the third Sunday of the Great Lent the adoration of the Holy Cross is being performed. The Divine services in the church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Caves Lavra were led by the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Onufriy, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All-Ukraine and the Vicegerent of the Lavra metropolitan of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl Pavel.

The brethren’s night vigil in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross was headed by the Vicegerent of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Caves Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel jointly with the brethren of the monastery in the holy order.

During the night vigil, His Eminence the Vicegerent performed the monastic vow of the novitiates of the monastery, giving them the names Gabriel in honor of Archangel Gabriel, and Tikhon in honor of Saint Tikhon (Belavin).

On Sunday, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onuphrius led the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross. His Beatitude was joined in service by the Vicegerent of the Holy Caves Monastery, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgoord and Chernobyl as well as metropolitan Mitrophan of Lugansk and Alchevsk (Head of the External Church Relations of the UOC), archbishop Panteleimon of Bucha, bishop Silvester of Belogorodka (Rector of Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary) and the brethren of the Kiev-Caves Lavra inn the holy order.
