On the first day of the afterfeast of the Nativity of Christ, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl traditionally celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of Christ in the Obolon district of Kyiv. Concelebrating with the Abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra were the rector, Archpriest Oleksandr Holod, as well as the clergy and guests of the church in the sacred rank.

After the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Pavel addressed the parishioners with a sermon, in which he spoke of the testimonies of Holy Scripture that proclaim to us the Nativity of Christ and the Most Holy Theotokos.

At the conclusion of the service, the Abbot of the Lavra congratulated the parishioners and the clergy of the church, led by the rector, on the patronal feast of the Nativity of Christ, and then invoked God’s blessing upon all who had prayed in the church on that day.
