On the day before honoring the memory of Great Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles, the prayer and later the cross procession with many thousands of participants from the Vladimir Hill to the Kyiv-Caves Lavra were performed. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from all over Ukraine merged in a joint prayer on the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral of the Monastery, where the night vigil was accomplished.

The divine service was led by the Holy Archimandrite of the Monastery, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine concelebrated by the Vicegerent of the Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, the array of archpriests and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the representatives of the Antioch and Serbian Local Churches as well as the Churches of the Czech lands and Slovakia.

During the night vigil, the festive lity was performed headed by Metropolitan Vladimir.
